Convenors
R4RM was established in October 2009 by three Chittering residents Ian Watson, Derek Gascoine and Clair Medhurst who became concerned about BRL’s activity, and its proposal to increase its mining operations to 3 million tonnes per annum. Ian Watson withdrew as a convenor of R4RM in January 2010 and has ceased to be associated with the group. Derek and Clair both have over 25 years experience in mining law as well as backgrounds in public company management, project management and farming. R4RM is not anti-mining. It was established to ensure any mining is undertaken in a responsible manner, with due process, appropriate consultation, and monitoring.
